How much sleep does the average teenager need

Sleep is very important in the life of a teenager. It helps in correct physical and mental development and to give their best in school. If a teenager does not sleep enough, sleep deprivation can lead to delays in the development of coeds.

So, how much sleep does the average youth need?

Average teenager needs at least 9.5 hours of sleep.

According to the American Sleep Disorders Association, the average teenager needs around 9.5 hours of sleep per night, possibly because hormones that are critical to growth and sexual maturation are released mostly during slumber.

Yet studies show that teenagers generally get an average of only 7.4 hours a night. This is far short of the desired quota for healthy teens.

Usually, the reason for not sleeping well are playing video games, watching movies late into the night, nights out or even over-learning.

In any case, the healthy development of youth need to have sufficient night sleep and to rest their bodies sufficiently to be ready to meet his obligations up to concentrate on tasks.

You have to remember that full, deep sleep is invigorating, renewing and essential for  body of average teenager.

You release important chemicals and hormones like HGH when you sleep.Your body repairs, rebuilds and grows. Your brain rests. Your eyes refresh. And your muscles relax and shrug off the strains of the day.
